Forget it, this watch is so weak on battery, it shut itself down quickly no matter you put it under the sun for long hours.

Customer Review: SOLAR BATTERY CHARGING PROBLEMS
I PURCHASED THIS CASIO SOLAR WATCH 14 MONTHS AGO. ALL THE BLOGS YOU READ ABOUT SOME OF THE CASIO SOLAR WATCHES HAVING BATTERY ISSUES ARE TRUE. THE SYMPTOMS START WITH HITTING EITHER THE LUMINISCENT BUTTON OR THE MODE BUTTON AND THE WATCH WILL GO INTO A RECOVERY MODE. AFTER IT GOES INTO A RECOVERY MODE THE LIGHT FUNCTION AND ANY FUNCTION THAT REQUIRES A BEEP (LIKE THE ALARM OR SIGNAL FUNCTIONS WILL NOT WORK) UNTIL THE RECOVERY MODE STOPS. THE MANUAL SAYS THAT RECOVERY MODE SIGNIFIES THAT THE BATTERY NEEDS CHARGING EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY INDICATOR SHOWS A FULL CHARGE ON THE BATTERY. I HAVE CHARGE THIS WATCH IN SUNLIGHT FOR DAYS AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSIST. NEXT I REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH HOPES THAT MY WATCH HAD A DEFECTIVE BATTERY WHEN PURCHASED, UNFORTUNATELY THE NEW BATTERY DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I SHOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTENTION TO THE BLOGS ON THE NET THAT OWNERS OF CASIO SOLAR WATCHES HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS WITH NO TECHNICAL SOLUTION FROM CASIO. I HAVE OWNED G-FORCE WATCHES FOR 20 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BATTERY ONLY CASIO’S. I THOUGHT A SOLOR WATCH THAT DIDN’T NEED BATTERY REPLACEMENT FOR MANY YEARS WOULD BE A WELCOME BENEFIT. MY ADVICE IS BE CAUTIOUS WHEN MAKING A DECISION ABOUT THE SOLOR MODELS AND DO YOUR RESEARCH. I HAVE DISCARDED MY CASIO SOLAR AND PURCHASE A NEW CASIO G SHOCK MODEL G2900F1V WITH A 10 YEAR BATTERY. WHEN A BATTERY WILL LAST 10 YEARS WHO NEEDS SOLOR ANYWAY

i love this watch because of the velcro band. It makes the watch look tougher, stronger and bulkier. Everyone who sees it likes too. this watch is tough, rough and unique. I collect g-shocks and happy that i added this one to my collection.

Very tough watch will get you through the most demanding situations as well as day to day wear. The velcro strap is a bit difficult to use, however.

It started out great and I loved it. I use all of the extra features. The battery meter is garbage though.
It stopped working after a few months. Now it either shows full power or zero power and shuts off. When it shuts off you lose all of the data- phone #s etc.

Customer Review: Not bad. . .But not great.
It is a nice looking watch & I do like the large easy to see numbers. But I’m not wild about the layout of the watch. The abbreviated day is shown next to the time & that’s o.k. But below the time is the year shown first then the date & day. I’d prefer it the other way around. The other feature that I dislike, is that the light doesn’t stay on as long as you have the button pressed. It only stays on for a couple of seconds. So I think I could have done better. But I’ll live with it for the price I paid. Which was decent.

Customer Review: Nice looking watch but…
Like the title says, it’s a very nice looking watch but the digital read out is so small I couldn’t even see it with my reading glasses on and my eyes aren’t all that bad. I may have lived with that flaw, a major flaw I might add, but the analog time wasn’t much better…the hands sort of blended in with the face of the watch making if very difficult to see as well. I decided to send it back and received a full refund….thanks Amazon. I’ve already replaced it with the Casio F-28W (also from Amazon) which is digital only….this one’a a keeper.
