I realize that a second is defined as 9,192,631,770 revolutions of cesium or something of the sort. I am asking how does a watch maker or manufacturer calibrate a time piece. I’m sure Rolex or Casio have electron microscopes that are used to make every watch. Any information with sources would be greatly appreciated.

Bought this item on September 10, 2008 and by yesterday the battery was gone. Anyway for such price, I got way more than I expected.

This watch looked great on line on the photo and so I bought it. When it came in I really liked the look and size of the watch. But when I handled it, I was thinking “Gross, plasticky feeling watch”. So I put it on and it was actually kinda hard to tuck in the wrist strap without it digging into my wrist as I did it. It actually hurts everytime I put it on. But once I get through the pain of the hard plastic getting locked into place on my wrist I am okay. The watch looks nice and is pretty much indestructible. My mistake in choosing this. I was looking for a solar watch that would eliminate battery changes. My hands are in and out of water all day long, and I depend upon the seal. The seal is not guaranteed once the case is open. This watch is lovely as an atomic watch, but it is not solar.

Nice little watch but the glass is not mineral, it is poor quality plastic and scratches easily.
